Dr. Keith Kanner

Dr. Kanner is a Licensed and Board Certified Clinical Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychologist and Psychoanalyst. Aside from a Full Time private practice in Rancho Santa Fe California, he is additionally an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the School of Medicine at the University of California San Diego where he teaches both human development and also trains medical students how to better understand and relate to their patients. He is also the Director of Clinical Counseling for La Jolla Country Day School in La Jolla California and is additionally a Clinical Professor at The San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.

Dr. Kanner has also been both an Expert Media Consultant for the past 10 years and 4 years ago launched his weekly television show, Your Family Matters, which he first hosted on Fox and is now on CW in San Diego. In 2008, his show won the IMedia Parenting Award for Television from Disney and his show continues to be one of the most popular ones in San Diego. Recently, Dr. Kanner was awarded Man of the year in Medicine and Healthcare by the ABA. Nationally, Dr. Kanner is one of the 15 LifeChangers for Extra TV in Hollywood where he gives advice to parents on raising children and adolescents and family life in general. In addition, has appeared on numerous television shows including: Dr. Phil; Fox and Friends; Geraldo; HLN; and Studio B to name a few. His weekly Blog that summerizes his weekly topic for television appears in newsprint in 5 different publications., including SDNN. Although he has written professionally for over a decade, his first book for parents, Your Family Matters: Common Parent Dilemmas, is in Press and expected to be released in May of 2011.

Dr. Kanner also sits on the National Board of Directors for Kids Korps USA which is the largest organization in the country which teaches children and adolescents the importance of volunteering to help the community at large. As a father of three children, he is also a dedicated baseball, football, and soccer coach.
